2019 What Are Birds Hybrid Contest
Submissions for our 2019 Hybrid Contest will be open from January 1 - February 1, 2019.
We are looking for your most exciting hybrid work: the pieces that exist in multiple genres or no genre at all.. Send us your prose, your mixed media collages, your songs and dances, your poetry that makes use of more than just the page.
Please send no more than 10 pages in a .doc, .docx, or .pdf to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Hybrid Contest 2019 Submission”. Please include a short bio as well as proof of entry fee.

There is a $10 entry fee, with a prize of $250 + publication in our Spring issue. All finalists will be considered for publication in the Spring issue as well.

This year’s contest submissions will be read by the What Are Birds editors, with the final decision made by our guest judge, Mathias Svalina. Mathias Svalina is the author of five books, most recently The Wine-Dark Sea from Sidebrow Books. He is an editor for Octopus Books & runs a Dream Delivery Service.
